West Australian Owned and Operated Mining Project

CASE STUDY 2 – IRON ORE PROJECTS

Retained Executive Search Engagement to find and engage a Commissioning Director prior to this world class integrated mine, port and rail project entered the critical phase of commissioning.

The role was chiefly responsible for the management and oversight of the safe commissioning and progressive handover of the Mine, Rail and Port to operations management. It was also responsible for construction completions, contractor performance and extensive interface with the Operations group to ensure operational readiness targets were met.

Search Process

The search for suitable candidates for this role was conducted in Australia and across the globe. It was critical in the research phase to identify projects and operations across a variety of commodities that had, or were currently undertaking a similar development pathway. However, the focus was particular directed towards recent large Iron Ore developments with similar capex and flow sheets.

Using our extensive networks of senior project and operational executives and other research methods, Concorde was able to quickly identify several projects and operations throughout the global mining sector that held suitable candidates. As a result, the client was presented with several viable options with which to proceed.
